Why We Are Excited to Be at Automation Expo 2018

The most significant exhibition for Industrial Automation is round the bend, and we could not be more excited. The Automation Expo, 2018 will be held from 29th of August to 1st of September @ BEC, Goregaon, Mumbai. Ascent Intellimation has a booth at the event. Visit us at Hall 2, Stall X22 to have a look at our innovative Industrial IoT solutions.

Automation Expo is the melting pot for turnkey solutions for industrial automation, high-end automation products, automation technology, advanced electrical and other such technologies. Attending one of Asia’s leading Automation and Instrumentation Exhibition has its own excitement. This excitement only doubles when your company is also participating and demonstrating smart solutions in an event of this magnitude.

The conversation on IIoT has been gaining momentum owing to the varied benefits that it brings to the manufacturing industry. With the use of advanced automation, and technologies such as sensors and controllers, big data analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing we are heralding the new era of manufacturing. With machine to machine communication, we are now entering an age where robots and humans can work alongside one another and unleash a new wave of productivity. IIoT will help companies achieve better resource optimization, predictive maintenance of machines and better asset and supply chain management and tracking.

The August issue of ‘Industrial Automation’ magazine focuses on Digital Transformation. Views of our MD Sujata Tilak are published in the cover story. Sujata says, “Industrial Internet of Things does have potential to transform all aspects of manufacturing. However, it is not a magic pill. End users and vendors have to collaborate in IIoT initiatives. It is a partnership right from building a digital transformation strategy to design and execution of various projects as per strategy, and further to monitoring results and fine tuning.”

This is not the first time that Ascent Intellimation is participating in this mega event. Our first tryst with this event happened in 2014 and then again in 2017. This year promises to be more exciting as the Expo has a dedicated pavilion for the Industrial Internet of Things.

The IIoT pavilion is a great platform for knowledge transfer which will give the visitors a peek into the transformative powers of IIoT, the kind of solutions that exist in this universe and how to implement these systems to reap the benefits of improved productivity, efficiency and costs.

While we are excited to have our own booth at the Automation Expo this year, there is another reason for this excitement to soar further. This year, we shall be having Mr. Brian Curtis, President of The International Society of Automation (ISA), and the guest of honor of this event along with other ISA dignitaries visiting our stall. We are keenly looking forward to interacting with him to discuss the existing and future trends of automation and IIoT and its impact on industries especially manufacturing.

One of the key attractions of our booth is going to be the demo of ‘Factory of the Future’. In this demo, we aim to showcase how our solution, PlantConnect SFactory, is used in different Industry 4.0 initiatives and assists different manufacturing companies in their journey towards smart manufacturing. We will showcase how our solution has been successfully used to connect to manufacturing assets to get production and process data, analyze and interpret data in real time, compare performance against benchmarks and take data-driven decisions close to events. We will also showcase how manufacturing companies can enable performance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and energy monitoring effectively using SFactory.

We will also showcase a ‘Track & Trace’ application demo in our booth. It will demonstrate how individual products can be traced throughout manufacturing cycle for production and quality data. This is very useful for traceability of products like critical auto components.

The Automation expo website informs me that there are over 1100 exhibitors, 20,000 products and 25 participating countries and 50,000 global visitors at this event. We look forward to meeting you at our booth in Hall 2, Stall X22.
